Building the Business “Your Way”

You’ve worked long and hard to build the business, your way.

You’ve created a family atmosphere and a solid income for yourself.

You’ve gained confidence and felt the satisfaction from the business’ success.

You value the feelings of freedom and independence.

Not a Straight Line to Easy Street

But, being a business owner isn’t all rosy.

There are many bumps and obstacles along the way.

Business Has Become More Challenging

Change happens faster now.

Your customers have more choices from competitors.

The economy has become erratic and unpredictable.

The Pressure of the Business Can Feel Intense

You’ve begun to feel more pressure.

It’s more difficult to keep the cash flowing.

A business owner can feel overwhelmed.

It doesn’t need to be like this.

You can escape the grind and the stress.

And, you ask how?

And, you ask how?

The answer is Regaining Control.

Over time a business can seize control of the owner’s time and independence.

It’s a common occurrence.

They may not realize this until they feel overwhelmed.

They spend too much time:

  • Dealing with pressing financial matters

  • Trying to generate sales

  • Resolving operational and personnel issues, and

  • Responding to customer demands

And, then what happens?

An owner becomes overwhelmed and loses control of their cash flow needs.  And then, their bank account balance shrinks to troubling levels.

So, how do you pull out of these difficult times?

I can help you Regain Control.

It can be lonely at the top

It can be lonely at the top

I’ve helped over 40 businesses recover from tough times.

You see, I know it’s lonely at the top.  I’ve been there.

When times get tough, most business owners feel like nobody is listening to them.  Who can relate to the pressure they feel?

Yes, they have an accountant or CPA, but they’re usually a numbers person.

How about a spouse?  Sometimes that works, but in reality no one else really understands what you’re going through when you’re feeling the tension.

So first and foremost, I’m the person you can talk to about your business and its stresses.

(I actually listen.  How many people do that anymore?)

You see, I’ve been in your shoes before.  Running businesses, dealing tough times, handling cash flow issues and being incredibly stressed out with non-stop daily activities.  I can relate to the pressure you feel.

There were times where I hoped to wake up one morning and find everything was alright.  Obviously, that was delusional and wishful thinking.  Things were still in bad shape.

“What do you want to happen?”

“What do you want to happen?”

Its a simple question and one of the first things we talk about.  What you do want to happen?

Business owners typically say:

“I want relief from this stress”

“I want to enjoy my daily life with more free time”

“I want my bank account balance back to where it was”

Do any of those sound like you?

My coaching addresses the key challenges and stresses that business owners face nearly everyday.

My coaching is focused solely on you, the business owner, to help you:
  • Relieve the pressure you feel

  • Improve your cash flow

  • Minimize the activities that distract and overwhelm you

  • Develop a solid plan to achieve your vision of business success

You control the process of relief

You control the process of relief

One important point to be made here is that when you and I work together to help you regain control, you control the process to bring you relief.

You decide how slowly or rapidly you want to move toward your business goals and relief.

Most business owners want relief quickly.  Others are more deliberate.

You have control.

You may have noticed that I do NOT use a one-size-fits all approach.

It’s customized to you and your business.

Developing a comfort level

Developing a comfort level

Obviously, you and I haven’t worked together before.

You want to have confidence that I can help you relieve the stress.

I’ve Been In Your Shoes Before

One of the keys to having that comfort level is for you to understand that I’ve been your shoes before.

My business was crashing fast.  Cash flow was drying up.  And, the bank decided they were going to close my line of credit.  I was looking disaster square in the face.

I needed help.  I needed to talk with someone.  I needed to find the right person.

The Right Person

Fortunately, I found an older business owner who had experience with what I was encountering.   He’d been through tough times more than once.

So, what did the business owner say or do to help me relieve the stress and recover the business.

My answer, “Nothing”.  At least initially.

The thing that helped me the most is – he listened.  Yes, I know that sounds really basic.  But, that made all the difference.

Listening and Stress Relief

He listened, and he listened some more.

I had to get the stress out of my system.  Once the stress was released, then he and I were ready to tackle the business recovery.

From my decades of experience helping business owners, I’ve found that listening to you isn’t the only step to business stress relief, but it is incredibly important.

Keeping your independence

Keeping your independence

So, right now the single most important thing you can do for yourself (and the business) is to relieve the unrelenting daily pressure.

Being overwhelmed with cash flow issues and reactive activities can wear you down.  Your business needs a more relaxed and focused you.

I can help you regain control and relieve the stress.

Whether you work with someone else, or you and I work together, the key is to get started.

The sooner you get started, the sooner you feel the relief.
